# How to Use the Public API Dashboard

Section: Public API. Updated 2026-08-26. Page: https://help.fansmetric.com/public-api/how-to-use-the-public-api-dashboard

The FansMetric Public API lets you authenticate external services and integrations with your account. The **Dashboard** is where you track how those integrations are using the API.

### Before You Begin

> [!NOTE]
> **Permission required:** You must be an **organization admin** to see the Public API section.

### Accessing the Dashboard

Go to **Public API** in the left navigation menu and click **Dashboard**.

> [!NOTE]
> **Tip:** The dashboard only shows data once your keys start making requests. If you haven't set one up yet, create an API key first see [How to Create and Manage API Keys](https://help.fansmetric.com/public-api/how-to-create-and-manage-api-keys).

Day boundaries are calculated in **UTC**, and the data refreshes automatically.

### Usage Totals

Three cards at the top show total request counts for:

- **Today**
- **Last week**
- **Last month**

### Daily Requests

A bar chart with one bar per day, showing total requests across all keys. Hover over a bar to see the exact count for that day. If there's no activity, it reads *"No requests recorded in this window."*

### Top Keys

A table of your most-used keys, with columns for:

- **Name** - With a status dot (green for active, gray for inactive)
- **Roles** - The roles assigned to the key
- **Last Used** - When the key last made a request
- **Today** / **Last week** / **Last month** - Request counts for each window

If no keys have made requests recently, the table reads *"No API key usage in this window."*
