Create natural, high-revenue welcome message sequences with split testing

Welcome Sequences offer a significant improvement over the default OnlyFans welcome message feature. While OnlyFans allows you to set a single welcome message that's delivered instantly upon subscription, Welcome Sequences enable you to create a more natural, engaging onboarding experience for your new fans.

Accessing Welcome Sequences

You can access Welcome Sequences in two ways:

  1. Through the "Welcome Sequences" page in the main FansMetric dashboard

  2. Via the OnlyFans Client Sidebar in the Desktop App

IMPORTANT: To attach media to your Welcome Sequence messages, you need to create them through the Desktop App Client.

Creating a Welcome Sequence

To create a new Welcome Sequence:

  1. Click the "Create Welcome Sequence" button on the Welcome Sequences page to take you to the creation form.

  2. Set a descriptive name for the sequence.

  3. Add messages to your sequence by clicking the "Add Message" button. You can add multiple messages, which will be sent in order to new subscribers. For each message, you'll be able to:

    1. Specify the message text

    2. Set the minimum and maximum delay time for each message. For the first message, this delay is calculated from when the fan subscribes. For subsequent messages, it's the interval between messages.

    3. Add media attachments (if you're creating Welcome Sequences through the Desktop App Client).

  4. Arrange the order of your messages using the up and down arrows next to each message.

  5. Click "Create Welcome Sequence" when you're done.

  6. By default, the first welcome sequence created (made Active) will be set to send to all new subscribers, and subsequent sequences will default to 0% To make multiple sequences active, choose a percentage distribution with the up and down arrows in the Subscriber % column, and click Save Percentages to make the changes.

NOTE: The total percentage across all active Welcome Sequences must add up to 100%. This ensures that every new subscriber is assigned to a sequence.

Managing Your Sequences

The main Welcome Sequences page displays a table with the following information for each sequence:

  • Name

  • Message count (number of messages in the sequence)

  • Status (Active/Inactive)

  • Subscriber % (percentage of new subscribers who will receive this sequence)

  • Fans Received (number of fans who have received this sequence)

  • Earnings (total revenue from fans who received this sequence)

  • Earnings/Fan (average revenue per fan for this sequence)

  • Created at date

To view or edit details of a sequence, click on the sequence name. In this menu, you can pause, cancel and duplicate a sequence. Another way to pause a sequence is to set the subscriber percentage to 0%.

Note: When activating or editing sequences, ensure that the total percentage across all active sequences equals 100%. The system will alert you if this condition is not met.

Sequence Statistics

Each Welcome Sequence provides detailed statistics to help you understand its performance:

  • Fans Received (number of fans who have received this sequence)

  • Earnings (total revenue generated from this sequence)

  • Earnings/Fan (average revenue per fan for this sequence)

The detailed view for each sequence also includes the send count for each message in the sequence.

Use these insights to refine your sequences and improve engagement with new subscribers.

Best Practices

  • Create multiple sequences with different content strategies and assign varying percentages to each

    • For example: 50% general welcome, 30% content preview, 20% special offer

  • Regularly review performance statistics and adjust percentages to favor more effective sequences

  • Create a warm, personalized welcome in your first message

  • Use a mix of text-only and media-rich messages throughout each sequence

  • Gradually introduce your content and offerings over several messages

  • Test different delay times to find the optimal spacing between messages

  • Consider creating sequences tailored to different subscriber demographics or interests

  • Continuously experiment with new sequence ideas and content to discover what resonates best with your audience
