Understanding the Golden Ratio
The Golden Ratio is calculated by dividing the number of PPVs sent by the total messages sent.
Interpreting Your Golden Ratio
High Golden Ratio (>10%): Indicates a chatter is sending a large volume of PPVs relative to regular messages. While this may generate more revenue opportunities, it could potentially overwhelm fans if the Unlock Ratio is low.
Balanced Golden Ratio (5-10%): Represents an ideal balance between regular engagement and monetization opportunities.
Low Golden Ratio (<5%): Suggests a chatter may be missing revenue opportunities by not offering enough PPV content.
Golden Ratio in Context
The Golden Ratio should always be analyzed alongside the Unlock Ratio:
High Golden Ratio + High Unlock Ratio: Excellent performance - the chatter is offering many PPVs that fans are consistently purchasing.
High Golden Ratio + Low Unlock Ratio: Ineffective strategy - many PPVs are being sent, but few are being purchased. This could indicate issues with:
Content quality or relevance
PPV pricing strategy
Timing of PPV offers
How PPVs are presented or described
Low Golden Ratio + High Unlock Ratio: Good conversion rate but potentially missed revenue opportunities - when PPVs are sent, they convert well, but more could be offered.
By monitoring both metrics together, you can optimize your messaging strategy and improve overall revenue performance.
