Banned Words prevents chatters from sending messages that contain restricted terms such as phone numbers, personal information, or inappropriate language. This helps maintain compliance and protects both creators and fans.

Go to Banned Words in the left navigation menu.

Enabling Banned Word Flagging

At the top of the page, toggle "Enable Banned Word Flagging" to activate or deactivate the system.

When enabled, any message containing a banned word is blocked before sending. The chatter sees a warning and cannot send the message until they remove the flagged content.

Adding Banned Words

  1. Type a word or phrase in the input field

  2. Click "Add Word"

Words are automatically converted to lowercase for consistent matching.

Browsing and Managing Words

  • Alphabetical filter - Click a letter (A–Z) or # to jump to words starting with that character. Click All to see everything.

  • Active Words tab - Shows all currently banned words

  • Removed Words tab - Shows words that were previously banned but have been deactivated

Removing a Word

Hover over any active word and click the X button to remove it. The word moves to the Removed Words tab.

Reinstating a Word

Switch to the Removed Words tab, hover over a word, and click the checkmark to reinstate it as active.

Resetting to Defaults

Click "Reset to Default" to restore the default banned word list provided by ChatBlue. A confirmation dialog appears before the reset is applied.

Note: This replaces your custom list with the platform defaults.

What Gets Flagged

The banned words system checks for:

  • Exact word matches (case-insensitive)

  • Phone numbers and personal contact information

  • Any custom words you've added to the list
