The Time Tracking feature allows team members to clock in and out of their shifts directly from the navigation bar. This gives admins and managers complete visibility into working hours, making it easier to monitor productivity and ensure accountability.
Enabling Time Tracking
To enable clock in and out functionality for users:
Navigate to Roles & Permissions
Enable the Clock In/Out option for the required user roles (such as Chatter or Admin)
Once enabled, users will see a Clock In button in the top navigation bar
Users who begin interacting with the platform without clocking in will receive a reminder prompt to do so.
Using Clock In / Clock Out
Users with the necessary permissions will see the Clock In button at the top of the platform after logging in.
Once a user clocks in, their session is automatically tracked until they manually clock out or are automatically clocked out due to inactivity.
Setting Auto Clock Out Rules
Users with Chat Analytics permission can configure auto clock out settings to ensure inactive users are logged out automatically:
Go to Settings > Time Tracking
Set the Auto clock out after (minutes) duration. The minimum allowed value is 5 minutes
A user is considered inactive if there is no mouse movement or keyboard input during the specified time. They will be clocked out automatically to ensure only active time is recorded.
Viewing Time Tracking Reports
Users with access to Chat Analytics can monitor time logs from the Time Tracking Report and Team Members view.
From the Time Tracking Report:
Navigate to Chatting > Chat Analytics > Time Tracking
Filter by Timezone and Date Range
View:
Scheduled Hours
Clocked In Hours
Click on the Clocked In Hours value for any user to view a detailed breakdown of their sessions (including Clock In, Clock Out, and Duration)
You can also click Export CSV to download the session history.
From the Team Members page:
Go to Accounts > Team Members
In the table, you’ll see each user’s:
Role
Last Sign In
Last Clock Out
This gives a quick snapshot of recent activity without needing to open detailed reports.
Best Practices
Encourage your team to clock in before starting any task to ensure accurate tracking.
Set a reasonable auto clock-out time (e.g., 5–10 minutes) to avoid inflated work hours due to inactivity.
Regularly review the Clocked In Hours and session breakdown to ensure consistency in shifts and performance.
Export time tracking logs for monthly audits or shift reviews, especially if you're managing large teams.
